Recommendations for your Marketer career
Updated: May 15, 2021
Lately, I had the chance to be in contact with young Marketers who were eager to learn and go further in their Marketing careers. It was refreshing... and scary too because I noticed how far they are from the reality of Marketing. They remembered me some years ago. I thought in what are the simple pieces of advice I would have appreciated getting from a Senior Marketer at this time. That's how I came up with the following list, which collects recommendations taken from my own experience and thoughts of Marketing leaders I follow:
"Never stop testing things"
"Understand the customers' pains by listening to customers calls, speaking with the Sales team, reading customers comments on Social Media".
"Build a side-project, no matter if a podcast, a blog or a YouTube channel, and experiment there"
"Constitute a portfolio with your most appealing projects"
"Invest much more time and energy in promoting the content than creating the content itself"
"Show the value of Marketing into your organization, up to the CEO"
"Be obsessed with improving the life of your customer"
"Set your ambition by defining your measurable objectives"
"Be constant in your Marketing: customers need time to notice a change"
"Have your ROI under control"
"Dare new things"
Now, you can start your Marketer career on the right path and become a great Marketer.
